About Us
The Joining is three wonderful days of exploring the balance between the masculine and the feminine, through workshops, ceremony, fun, music, dance, great food, learning and laughter. Join about 150 men and women of all ages, both couples and singles for an opportunity to connect with conscious, like-hearted people intent on re-connecting with ourselves, each other and the natural world.
The Joining is the annual gathering of a community that works throughout the year to promote our health, spiritual growth and a balance between humanity and the ecosystems that sustain us. The Joining aims to reinvigorate our sense of joy, connection, gratitude and faith in ourselves, in our relationships and in a world on the verge of a new beginning.
Each year, a new committee holds a ‘dreaming’ for the theme of the next gathering. Our dreaming was enriched by this being our eighth year, marking a rite of passage into a new level of evolution for our community.

The Joining is very close to my heart – I’ve been involved with the Joining from the very start, the very first year we birthed the Joining, and I never dreamed that one day I would be asked by Spirit to hold the energy for the Feminine – so in a way things have come full circle for me, as once again I’m on First Circle (the committee), this time for the 10th Joining gathering.
In the past year I’ve come out of a long-term relationship, and it’s been a huge journey for me, demanding total surrender and keeping my heart open to love – whilst meanwhile reawakening at a deep level. I’ve had a year of intense transformation, and can honestly say I feel like I’ve had a complete make-over …!

To paraphrase the Hopi … “We are the one’s we’ve been waiting for … Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relation? Where is your water? Know your garden. It is time to speak your Truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader. This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. See who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

For Me, The Joining was an amazing experience in honoring union in Man/Woman/Child, union in All & union in nothing remembering – ‘It Just Is’.
2011 was my first Joining & I did not want the weekend to end!! My desire to continue was the driving force that led me to step up & be a member of the Committee for 2012.
I feel passionate in making a contribution to embrace,hold & share Love to our World Community & The Joining was one of the doorways opened for me to do this.

I attended my first Joining in 2004 and this year will be my 6th time here. Some years ago I brought
my partner, son, mother, father, brother and my brother’s partner all to the same gathering – wow,
what an experience! The effects still reverberate through our family to this day. yes
In my daily life I am a practising naturopath coaching leaders in their field and educating groups. My
focus in health is on detoxification and establishing client’s awareness to empower them in regards
to their health and life using very practical tools.
I am thrilled to make my contribution on the committee this year and look forward to sharing this
nurturing and honouring space with so many beautiful people!

The gifts I bring are: caring, joy, peace and love. This year connects me to the journey of the head to the heart. Remember to nurture my heart in wholeness. This is my lesson from The Joining 2011.
I’ve done enough things to judge myself as wrong. When I chat, have real conversations with people at the joining I accept my imperfections as perfect. In the past these judgements have blocked me from creativity and opportunity, now I have learnt to accept myself.
I only have this moment now. So, I choose a moment of joy and gratitude to live with. Look forward to joining you on the journey of The Joining.

I was delighted when told Louise and I will travel this road together over the next 12 months. We both adore those who have gathered with us to share in this journey. We have met, sung, danced, told stories and dreamt together. We are strong, receptive and ready.
The staff has travelled with me to my men’s group, to a Pathways to Manhood camp, to the Manhood Gathering, a Men’s Rite of Passage, and an Elders gathering. In those deep places of the masculine, men young and old have held it. This augers well for Joining with the feminine, particularly in September this year!
I wish to also acknowledge Caitlin, my beloved, and our 6 children. Already this journey has taken me away more than usual. I am determined that my time with the staff and the committee will bring much beauty and richness for them and for all involved, and naturally, to produce a delicious Joining this year. I honour all those keeping the home fires burning and commit to an inclusive process. A word that came up at our dreaming weekend was maturity; a growing up together and rigorous generosity in relationship… it starts here.

Hi to my beautiful community..
Well I am fresh from The Dreaming and filled with wonderment at the magic that weaved its way through our hearts and minds during this mystical weekend together at the stunning World View Centre. Terry and Deb’s generous sharing of their beautiful home provided us with a profoundly nurturing environment in which to open to the not knowing.
My experience was that of birthing a baby full of the potential for expansion .. our dreaming being the gestation and the birthing facilitated so skilfully by the strong focus of the masculine. An absolute delight to experience!!
The invitation that emerged so strongly was around AWAKENING, SONG, LOVERS HEARTS, GENEROSITY SO INSISTENT IT COULD BE FELT AS RUTHLESS AND A STRONG CALL FOR SACRED COMMUNITY NOW!
It was to my great surprise that I was called to step up and hold the feminine energy for the 2011 Joining. Since doing so, I have been haunted by a yearning to be a part of a community courageous in its commitment to a new paradigm in relationship.
I have been blessed to have Andy step up beside me to carry the masculine energy and we have a committee with such strength, depth and wisdom that the coming year holds the promise of new life beyond that which anyone could imagine.
My sense is this year is the time for stepping into a deeper exploration of love .. an expanded consciousness embedded in generosity of spirit.
What a fertile ground for all of us to seed, nurture and grow to maturity a different paradigm for community .. one insistent upon loving.
